Here is a sampling of recent crimes reported to Howard County police:


Autumn Splendor Drive -- 10700 block, 7:56 p.m. March 14. An electric scooter was stolen from an attached garage.

Belleview -- 6500 block, 4 p.m. March 10. An acetylene tank, hose, two torch tips and a friction lighter were stolen from an open garage.

Blue Wing Way -- 4900 block, between 8:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. A Dell computer was stolen.

Greco Garth -- 9400 block, 7:02 a.m. March 15. Green Mercury Sable was stolen.

Lambskin Lane -- 6:35 p.m. March 15. Suspects threatened someone with a folding knife and stole his cash.

Little Patuxent Parkway -- 10000 block, 8:15 p.m. March 12. A man displayed a large, black semiautomatic handgun on a parking lot and ordered the someone to give him cash. The assailant fled in a car.

Procopio Circle -- 7200 block, between 6:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. Jewelry, digital video discs, compact discs and a DVD player were stolen.

Rivers Edge Road -- 7100 block, between 10 p.m. March 9 and 7 a.m. March 10. A boys bicycle and case of beer were stolen.

Shinleaf Court -- 9000 block, between 8:30 March 11 and 12:30 p.m. March 12. A digital camera and beer were stolen.

Turnabout Lane -- 6100 block, between 7 p.m. March 4 and 5:30 p.m. March 16. A safe was stolen from an apartment.

Verizon, Little Patuxent Parkway -- 10000 block, between 9:30 p.m. March 14 and 7:25 a.m. March 15. Cellular equipment was stolen from a Verizon kiosk.


Bright Flow Mews -- 5000 block, between 4 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. March 12. A purse was stolen from a vehicle with an open window in an open garage.

Elkridge, Jessup

Elkridge Heights Road -- 5700 block, 1:11 a.m. March 11. Cash was stolen.

Wheel One, Bristol Court -- 8300 block, between 3 p.m. March 11 and 6 a.m. March 12. A black metal box containing money was stolen from an office.

Reed's Auto and Tire, U.S. 1 -- 6500 block, 10:33 p.m. March 10. A cash register was stolen.

U.S. 1 -- 6600 block, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 14. A television, DVD player, Nintendo GameCube and 20 video games were stolen.

Water Oak Road, 7000 block -- between 7 p.m. March 10 and 4:30 p.m. March 11. A front door was kicked in, and jewelry was stolen.

Ellicott City

Newcastle Court -- 3900 block, 7:25 a.m. March 15. Items were taken from a vehicle in a garage.

Royal Coachman Drive -- 4800 block, between 4 p.m. March 9 and 7 a.m. March 10. A dishwasher was stolen from a house under construction.


Golden Corn Drive -- 5700 block, 3:15 p.m. March 10. Residents surprised an intruder, who fled with a small amount of cash.


Laurel Auto Exchange, U.S. 1 -- 9500 block, 9:06 a.m. March 16. 2003 A Chrysler 300M was stolen.

U.S. 1 -- 9100 block, 11:11 p.m. March 12. A neighbor observed a man lurking near homes and detained him until police arrived. Police arrested a 33-year-old man in an attempted breaking and entering and disorderly intoxication.


River Island Drive -- 8900 block, between 9 p.m. March 14 and 4 a.m. March 15. A bike stolen from inside a home.


Deer Hill Road -- 5700 block, 11:27 a.m. March 10. Police arrested a 31-year-old man from Catonsville and a 40-year-old man from West Virginia in the theft of a dirt bike, tools and other property from a garage. Police stopped suspects on Interstate 70.

Forsythe Road -- 13400 block, between 9 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. March 16. Jewelry, coins, video games, DVDs and a Sony PlayStation were stolen.

Heatherwood Way -- 1700 block, between 8 a.m. Feb. 25 and 10 p.m. March 10. A laptop computer, printer and jewelry box were stolen.
