TOP PERFORMERS

Hassan Adams, Arizona --After a two-game suspension, the senior guard scored 21 points on 10-for-14 shooting.

Allan Ray, Villanova -- In his first game after a scary eye injury, the senior guard scored 19 points.

Roy Hibbert, Georgetown -- The 7-foot-2 center scored 17 points on 8-for-10 shooting.

SURPRISES

Davidson -- The Wildcats led second-seeded Ohio State at the half 29-25. The Buckeyes were 1-for-14 on three-point attempts.

Villanova -- The Wildcats missed 12 of its first 16 shots. On three-pointers, which have carried the team, it was 1-for-7.

THEY SAID IT

Jay Wright, Villanova coach -- "I thought this was a home game for us, and all of a sudden when they cut it to seven, that shocked me. Where did all those people [cheering for Monmouth] come from?"

Thad Matta, Ohio State coach -- "I told these guys after the game that the greatest words you can hear in college basketball are `Ohio State advances,' and that's what we've done."
