A 17-year-old Glen Burnie High School student was arrested yesterday morning after he had a fistfight with another student and it was revealed that he had an unloaded .22-caliber pistol in his pocket, police said.

Norman Coray Hairston, 17, of the 500 block of West Court was charged as an adult with having a concealed weapon on school property, disrupting school activities and unlawful possession of a handgun, police said.

The fight occurred at 9 a.m. and was broken up by a school resources officer. A large crowd of students gathered, and a student told the officer that Hairston might have a gun, police said. He was searched and the unloaded pistol and a round of ammunition was found in his right front pants pocket, police said.
