TOP PERFORMERS

Glen Davis, LSU -- The sophomore forward scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Shelden Williams, Duke -- The senior center scored 29 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and blocked four shots.

Acie Law, Texas A&M -- The junior guard had 23 points, including 12 in the final 2:25, seven rebounds and five assists.

SURPRISES

Texas A&M -- The 12th-seeded Aggies ousted Syracuse, which had won four games last weekend to win the Big East tournament.

Gerry McNamara, Syracuse -- The senior guard, who sparked the Orange last weekend, was held to two points, tying his career low.

Texas A&M guard Acie Law, on Syracuse -- "We kind of got under their skin by the end of the game. You could see the frustration."

Iona's Ricky Soliver, on LSU's Glen Davis -- "He's a load down there. I didn't think he was that much of a problem. But a big guy like that shooting fade-aways?"

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, on the Blue Devils' slimmer-than-expected margin of victory -- "This isn't like an English course and you've flunked the last paper. They're good players, and sometimes they don't play as well."
