Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Arrest -- Officers Julie Pitocchelli and Keith Devoe of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force were driving in the 2300 block of W. North Ave. on Wednesday when they spotted a man charged in a warrant with first-degree murder in the stabbing of his girlfriend, Frederika Moseley, 46, in the 200 block of N. Bond St. on Feb. 16. Arrested and held without bail at Central Booking and Intake Center was Irvin Merritt, 46, of no fixed address. Merritt also is charged in warrants with two attempted robberies


Arrest -- Daniel Blackston, 20, of the 1400 block of Gorsuch Ave., was arrested Wednesday in the 2100 block of Guilford Ave. on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder. Blackston is accused of shooting Mitchell Briggs Jr., 33, in the 1600 block of Abbotston St. about 3:40 p.m. Feb. 4. Briggs died an hour later at Johns Hopkins Hospital.


Robbery -- A woman, 20, was walking in the 2200 block of Presstman St. about 8 p.m. Wednesday when a man who implied he was armed robbed her of a mobile phone valued at $100.

Arson -- Police were seeking a woman who set a fire in the basement of a house in the 2500 block of Woodbrook Ave. Tuesday night after an argument with the occupant. The fire was confined to the basement, and no injuries were reported.


Burglary -- Video games, cash, digital video discs and other property were stolen Wednesday from an apartment in the 2500 block of Washington Blvd.

Armed robbery -- Police were seeking a gunman who robbed a 52-year-old man of his cell phone in the 1000 block of N. Rosedale St. about 11 p.m. Monday.

Burglary -- A compact disc player, CDs, a DVD player and DVDs were stolen Tuesday from an apartment in the 1900 block of N. Dukeland St.


Burglary -- DVDs valued at $100 and toiletries were stolen Wednesday from Church of St. Paul in the 800 block of Washington Blvd.

Burglary -- Two electric drills and $300 cash were stolen Tuesday from La Nails in the 3400 block of Annapolis Road.

Burglary -- A cellular phone, DVD movies, CDs and a set of keys were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1200 block of Riverside Ave. by someone who entered through a rear basement window.

Baltimore County

North Point

Theft/arrest -- A woman, 38, from South Baltimore, was arrested Wednesday and charged with shoplifting toothache medication valued at $7.25 from Rite Aid in the first block of Shipping Place in Dundalk. Her name was not available.

Burglary -- A 19-inch television valued at $500 was stolen Wednesday from the basement of a house in the 1800 block of East Ave.


Burglary/vandalism -- Police were seeking whoever entered a county landfill in the 6200 block of Days Cove Road Tuesday night or Wednesday morning and damaged two front-end loaders.


Robbery -- A young male was walking in the 4900 block of New Town Blvd. about 8 a.m. Wednesday when three older males knocked him to the ground and robbed him of $6 and his cellular phone.

White Marsh

Burglary -- A moped was stolen Wednesday from the front porch of a house in the 6700 block of Havenoak Road.

Burglary -- A digital camera, a DVD player and video games were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 6100 block of Marquette Road.
