Depeche Mode sings the hits in Simlish

Some news tidbits from the video game front:

Love 'em or hate 'em, Depeche Mode have signed on to redo their tune "Suffer Well" in Simlish, that garbled nonsense language familiar to any Sims fan, for Open for Business, the third expansion pack for The Sims 2. Eighties hit-makers Howard Jones ("Things Can Only Get Better") and Kajagoogoo ("Too Shy") also get converted to Simlish. The "language" is actually based on fractured Ukrainian and Tagalog, the language of the Philippines.

Midway Games and Vin Diesel's Tigon Studios are teaming up to bring a film version of the hit game Wheelman to the big screen. Diesel will star and help develop the project. Which is kind of surprising. Who'd have thought he'd still have any juice after The Pacifier?

Despite the fact that no one's ever made a great Superman game, someone's trying again. This time around, it's EA, so there's hope. Superman Returns: The Videogame, promises a super-detailed Metropolis with more than 9,000 buildings in a 80-square-mile area - good thing you can fly. You can check out the results so far via some online video at besuperman.com.
