MARY H. FLETCHER, 93, of Annapolis formerly of Cambridge passed away on Monday, March 6, 2006 at her residence. She was born on October 6, 1912 in Cambridge and was a daughter of the late Frederick H. and Mary Yerbury Henry Fletcher. She attended school in Cambridge and the Hannah More Academy and then earned degrees from Hollins College and the University of Chicago. Miss Fletcher was a chemist who spent most of her working career in the Washington area. She worked twelve years with the U.S. Bureau of Mines, and twenty five years with the U.S. Geological Survey. She was the author or co-author of numerous papers which deal with the analytical chemistry of trace amounts of a number of the less familiar elements. Miss Fletcher was a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi, the Photographic Society of America, Annapolis Camera Club and a member of Saint Anne's Church in Annapolis. She is survived by a sister Charlotte Goldsboro Fletcher of Annapolis. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11 A.M. at Saint Anne's Episcopal Church in Annapolis, MD. On Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 2 P.M. a committal service will be held at Christ Episcopal Churchyard in Cambridge, MD. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity of Maryland, 350 Aurora St., Easton, MD 21601. Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge is handling the services.
