Meeting with police set in Harper's Choice

The Harper's Choice Village Board will sponsor a communitywide meeting with representatives from the Howard County Police Department at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Kahler Hall, 5440 Old Tucker Road, Columbia.

Residents are encouraged to take the opportunity to speak directly to police officers about their concerns.

Comments, concerns or suggestions can also be e-mailed or called in to the village office; they should be submitted by 3 p.m. Friday.

County executive candidates forum

The group African-Americans in Howard County, in cooperation with local African-American churches and community groups, will hold a forum for county executive candidates at 10 a.m. March 25 in Agape Hall at St. John Baptist Church, 8910 Old Annapolis Road (Route 108), Ellicott City.

Benefit book sale being held Friday

St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Highland will hold a used-book sale from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday to benefit a Habitat for Humanity trip to Belen, N.M.

Proceeds will help pay for construction of two homes.
