Workshop is for women with cancer

The American Cancer Society will offer a "Look Good ... Feel Better" workshop to female cancer patients from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. March 20 at the Carroll Hospital Center Women's Place. The free program is open to women who are learning to cope with appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.

Program aims to help smokers quit

Carroll Hospital Center will hold a "Next Step" tobacco cessation program at 7 p.m. March 21 in the Learning Center. Anyone wishing to quit smoking can attend.

Class focuses on calming babies

The Learning Center at Carroll Hospital Center is offering a class to help parents and other caregivers learn how to keep babies content.

"The Happiest Baby on the Block" class is based on the approach pioneered by child development specialist and pediatrician Harvey Karp and presented in his book and DVD, The Happiest Baby on the Block.

Registration is $70 per couple (either expecting or with their baby up to 3 months old).

The one-time class will be offered from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 22, April 13, May 25, June 15 and July 27.
