1883: The shakes

Harford County was shaken by two or three earthquakes the night of March 11 and morning of March 12 in 1883. The intensity, as measured on the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale, was between IV (hanging objects swing, standing cars rock, windows and dishes rattle) and V (sleepers awakened, doors swing, shutters and pictures move). It was noted that some clocks stopped in Fallston.
