Healy, Walters lead way for Maryland with 3 goals each

COLLEGE PARK // Brendan Healy tallied his fourth career hat trick, including the game-winning goal, to lead No. 1 Maryland to a 9-6 victory over No. 15 Towson at Byrd Stadium.

The Terps took a 4-0 lead into the second half.

Towson outscored the Terps 5-1 in the third quarter. Bobby Griebe's man-up goal as the quarter ended tied the game at 5.

Xander Ritz scored with 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter to give Maryland (3-0) the lead for good. Healy then scored two unassisted goals less than three minutes apart for an 8-5 Terps lead.

Griebe and Kyle Fiat scored two goals apiece for the Tigers (1-2).

Harry Alford finished the game with 12 saves and led the Terps with five groundballs.
