MAJOR TIMOTHY P. AUVIL, 42, died February 27, 2006, in South Korea. He was born November 22, 1963, in Dundalk, MD, a son of Pat and Doug Auvil, of Terra Alta, WV. He was born and raised on Kavanagh Road, in Dundalk, MD. He graduated from Calvert Hall High School, class of 1981. He then graduated from Loyola College, Baltimore, MD and was commissioned a 2nd LT. in the US Army on May 29, 1985. Major Auvil served in combat during Operation Dessert Storm. He was also deployed to Bosnia, and at the time of his death, was serving his 2nd tour of duty in South Korea. He is also survived by his beloved fiance, Teresa Kim, of South Korea, whom he was to marry on February 28, 2006; daughter, Carolina Auvil and a son, Scott Auvil, both of Houston, TX; and a brother, Scott Auvil, of Idaho; aunts and uncles, Lou and Dorothy Fraass, Georgi and Donald Auvil, and Frank Iacovelli, all of Baltimore, MD; and many cousins. Major Auvil will be intered in a military cemetery in Houston, TX. There will be a memorial service Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Terra Alta, WV with Rev. Michael L. Daniels officiating.
