Roch around the clock

The Kickoff

That Barry Bonds reality show just got a whole lot more interesting.

Jorge Julio gave up a home run for Venezuela yesterday in the World Baseball Classic. No way. You'd think the game was moved to Tropicana Field.

As for the Orioles, they lost to the Boston Red Sox, 10-6. Ed Rogers and Napoleon Calzado had errors. Eddy Rodriguez was the only pitcher who didn't allow a run among the five used, but he walked three in 1 2/3 innings. The run off John Halama was unearned.

Jay Gibbons is batting .385 with seven RBIs. Stay tuned for a spring feature story, coming to a newspaper near you.

Val Majewski continues to scuffle at the plate. He's batting .200. Hayden Penn had trouble keeping the ball down in the first inning, but he looked a lot better in the second.

"Hayden can't pitch up," manager Sam Perlozzo said, adding that Penn was overthrowing his curveball at times.
