Justin Bowser culminated his senior season by winning his second consecutive Class 4A-3A state wrestling title at 125 pounds, raising his Anne Arundel County-record for career victories to 147. Three of Bowser's seven career losses were to state champions, and the other four were against state finalists. All were by decision.

At this year's state tournament, Bowser, 17, earned the 48th, 49th and 50th pins of his career to reach the tittle bout, where he scored a 12-2 rout of Magruder's Zach Tolbert, last year's 112-pound state champion. Bowser ended the season with a 38-1 record that included 20 pins and 11 technical falls.

This year, Bowser became only Anne Arundel's second wrestler to win four county and regional titles. Bowser also joined Mark Chesla, a repeat champion in 1994 and '95, as his school's only two-time champions. Bowser looks to attend the U.S. Naval Academy's preparatory school.

Others considered: Johnny Higgins, Randallstown, basketball; Tyler Macleod, North Carroll, wrestling; Matt Bichner, Glenelg, wrestling.
