Kelsey Erdman, a 5-foot-8 junior forward for River Hill, closed out a strong playoff week with a 13-point, 17-rebound effort to help lead the No. 8 Hawks (26-0) past Howard County-rival Mount Hebron, 54-39, for their second straight Class 3A East regional crown on Friday.

In the three wins last week, she had 38 points, 27 rebounds and 16 steals. After earning a spot on the varsity team in her freshman year, Erdman became a starter going into the playoffs last season and has been a major contributor ever since.

A perimeter player in her first two seasons, she was moved inside this season and flourished with a knack for rebounding. She averages 11.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.8 steals a game this season.

Others considered: Tiffany Lewis, Southside, basketball; Peju Awodipe, New Town, basketball; Sarah Ziegler, Southern, basketball.
