STATS -- The 5-foot-10 junior guard averaged 15 points, five assists and three steals to lead the Bears into last Thursday's Class 3A North regional semifinal, where they lost to Baltimore City rival Walbrook. Robinson scored 16 points to go with five steals to lead Carver to a 67-56 win at City on Feb. 28, the program's first playoff win since 2001.

SIDELINES -- Robinson, 16, carries a B-plus average and often works closely with his grandmother, Dorothy Williams, in generating ideas for her role with the school's Parents, Teachers and Students Association. Robinson has spent his past three summers as a math, reading and athletics mentor with an inner-city, youth-oriented sports program called Helping Our Youth Achieve (HOYA). Robinson ran cross country for the first time last fall and will run track for the first time this spring.
