JOHNSON, Mary "Catherine" Fales, Myers 98 years young, of Orlando, Florida, joined Our Lord in Heaven, Thursday March 2, 2006. She passed peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was born February 13, 1908 in Baltimore City, Maryland. The eldest daughter of 12 children born to William George Fales and Etta Minerva Mattern Fales she passes to join them. "What a Spirit and So Full of Life" was a Testimony to her Christian Choice. Everyone she met loved her. She took great pride in caring for her family and in the later years, being care for by them. She wore many titles in her busy, exciting life, always giving to others, Catherine was a loving and devoted Wife, beloved and blessed Mother, Moma, to her children. She was a wonderful Grandma, Grandma Gert, Grandma J, Granny, Grams, Grandma Katie, to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grand children. She was Aunt Kate to her numerous nieces and nephews, and loving friend to everyone. She will be missed forever and will be in everyone's hearts. A pacesetter in her time, in the early 1940's Catherine and her late husband, Donald E Johnson Sr. were cofounders of the Blue and Gray Cab Company, Inc in Parkville, Md. As a Dispatcher, she was one of the first to use Bendix 2-way radios for the taxicab communications. She relocated to south Florida in 1964 with her family. There, she Surprised her family by buying her white Ford Mustang with the turquoise interior, to tool all over town. (Go Granny Go!) was our favorite cheer for her. "Cassie" enjoyed her friends, donned another title as Manager and Hostess of the Sea Horse Lounge in Oakland Park, Fl. happily for many years. Later in life, her awesome love of Children, led her to be a Child Care Provider in a Christian Church Nursery for little babies, in Boca Raton Baptist Church. She retired 1979 to Orlando, Fl to be with her family. But she didn't tire. Still full of zest, she enjoyed her life gardening, sewing, shopping, dining, cooking for the holidays, going to church, making new friends and loving her family. She will Always a Blessing to all of us. She is preceded in death by loving parents, brothers and sisters, her first husband "James" M H Myers, her loving husband, Donald E Johnson Sr., and her beloved son David G Myers, Children by marriage, son Donald E Johnson Jr, daughter in law Gloria Johnson, daughter June Johnson (White) Turner, grandchildren, Michael and Noema Johnson, and son-in-law Howard R Zinkhan. Surviving Family to celebrate her Life, include daughter, Shirley V Myers Zinkhan, son, John E Johnson (Nancy), daughters-in-law, Elizabeth A Myers Fertig (Al) & Sharon R (Johnson) Shine; Grandchildren, Donna Lee Zinkhan Pilitz (Frederick), Sandra M Zinkhan Meyers (Kenneth), Diane M Zinkhan Hobbs and Kurt H Conrad, Grayson S Myers (Robin), Douglas T Myers (Rainy), Kurt J Shine (Candy), Pamela D Shine Mc Nerney (Shawn), Eric A Shine, Donald Johnson II, Evelyn (White), Jesse White and Sandy Turner; Great-grandchildren, Lawrence (Wendy), William, Mary, Anthony, Melissa, Matthew, Rebecca, Karaline, Kiley, Shelbie, Justin, Brooke and Natalie; Great-great-children, Breanne, Dean (Lawrence II), Kendall, Haley and Jerrod. There are many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren by marriage, plus numerous nieces, nephews and their families. A Celebration of Catherine's Life will be held at Union Park Memorial Chapel, 407-277-9366, Rev. Delmar S Powell, Visitation 5:30-7:00 PM, Service 7:00 PM.
