Ad agency honored for Web site work

The Pomerantz Agency has been presented with a 2006 Addy Award by the DC Ad Club, the agency announced. The agency was recognized for its work on the Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau's Web site.

Pomerantz's entry was selected by the DC Ad Club out of more than 850. The agency will be honored at the 2006 ADDY Awards Gala on Saturday at the Ritz Carlton in Washington.

With more than 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY Awards are the world's largest recognized advertising competition, honoring excellence within the advertising industry.

The American Advertising Federation conducts the ADDY Awards through its 200 member clubs and 15 districts. Entries are judged at a local level, and winners then advance to regional, national and international competitions.

Seminar to discuss real estate careers

Long & Foster Realtors will hold seminars on "A Career in Real Estate."

The seminars address the questions of people who have thought of going into business for themselves in real estate and wish to consider the benefits and drawbacks of the industry.

Seminar topics include how to get started in a real estate career, course requirements, training costs and benefits.

The "career night" seminars are free and open to the public. Reservations are recommended. The seminars for this month will be held at the following times and locations:
