STATS -- Palumbo, a 6-foot-4 swing guard, had his season and high school athletic career abruptly end in a January game against No. 1 Mount St. Joseph. The senior injured his right knee and it required anterior cruciate ligament surgery. Palumbo averaged 8.6 points and 1.5 assists and shot 88.9 percent (32-for-36) from the line in 22 games.

SIDELINES -- Palumbo is expected to fully recover but will need five-to-six months of rehabilitation, which means he will not play baseball this spring. Palumbo, a middle infielder, has an academic-athletic scholarship to play baseball at George Mason. He has a weighted 4.3 grade point average, scored 1,940 on his SAT and is a member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
