TODAY

Board of Education -- The Board of Education will meet at 10 a.m. to consider the fiscal 2007 operating and capital budget. The meeting will be in the board meeting room of the Dr. Carol S. Parham Administration Building at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis. 410-222-5311.

Human Relations Commission -- The Human Relations Commission of Anne Arundel County will meet at 6 p.m. to discuss discrimination in the public and private sectors. The commission meets on the first Wednesday each month at the Arundel Center, 44 Calvert St., Annapolis. 410-222-1821.

Recreation board -- The Recreation Advisory Board will meet at 5 p.m. in the large conference room at 1 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis. The board will meet to review current programs and services and how to improve the recreation environment for all individuals. The board meets the first Wednesday of the month. 410-222-7867.

THURSDAY

Severn River Commission -- The Severn River Commission will meet at 4 p.m. to discuss concerns with the Severn River and to advise the administrative and government agencies on its watershed. The commission meets the first Thursday of each month in the Chesapeake Room at the Heritage Office Complex, 2664 Riva Road, Annapolis. 410-222-7441.

Land preservation meeting -- County Executive Janet. S. Owens and the County Department of Recreation and Parks will hold a meeting with the community to introduce agricultural and woodland preservation options at 7 p.m. at the London Town Public House Visitors Center in Edgewater. 410-222-7317.

Planning Commission -- The Annapolis Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. in city council chambers, 160 Duke of Gloucester St., to discuss planning and zoning issues. The meeting is held on the first and third Thursday of each month. 410-263-7946.
