1911: DEATH OF A GOVERNOR

John Lee Carroll, governor of Maryland from 1876-1880 and a resident of Doughoregan Manor, the family's Colonial-era estate in Ellicott City, died Feb. 27, 1911, in Washington. He was buried at Bonnie Brae Cemetery.
