You don't have to wait for the start of Marin Alsop's tenure as music director to hear the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra tackle off-the-beaten-path repertoire.
Thursday night at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall found the ensemble playing a good deal of adventuresome fare and, even more unusually, playing the tough stuff after intermission, not before.
