Marshall Durr, Northeast
Sport Basketball
BOYS
STATS -- Durr is leading Anne Arundel County in rebounds with 13 per game and is averaging 14 points in his first varsity season. The 6-foot-6 senior has been a force inside - grabbing rebounds, blocking shots and scoring - to make the Eagles competitive despite a losing record.
SIDELINES -- Northeast coach Kevin Gast called Durr "a great kid who has shown a lot of determination to make himself a better student." Until this year, Durr was uneligible to play sports at Northeast, but his current 2.5 grade point average has left an impression on coaches and faculty at the Pasadena school. "He's a kid everybody likes," Eagles athletic director Marianne Shultz said. Gast said Durr "has been a huge asset for our team," and several Division III schools and junior colleges are interested.
