Jerry Lipscomb, Lansdowne

STATS -- A senior, Lipscomb was a runner-up in last year's Baltimore County tournament, was third at last year's 2A-1A North regional and also third at the 2A-1A state tournament, ending his season with a 37-4 record that included 12 pins. Lipscomb won 25 of his first 28 bouts this season, capturing the 145-pound title along with Outstanding Wrestler honors at last month's Catoctin Duals. Lipscomb, who has 13 pins this season, was first at the South River Invitational, and second at the Edgewood Invitational.

SIDELINES -- Lipscomb, whose father, Jerry , started him wrestling, entered the week with 102 career wins. Lipscomb was named homecoming king and earned straight A's on his first-quarter report card. Lipscomb is a youth football coach in the Arbutus recreation council.
