A construction worker was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center last night after he and a colleague fell 20 feet into a hole while working at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, said airport spokesman Jonathan Dean.
The men fell into the hole shortly before 5 p.m. One man was rescued by airport personnel about an hour later and taken to the hospital; his condition was unknown last night. The other climbed out and did not require medical attention, Dean said.
The two men were working for Bradshaw Construction Corp. on a hydrant fueling system for Southwest Airlines at the airport's north cargo complex when the accident occurred, according to Dean.
