Description: A proposed 16-bed assisted living home for residents 55 years and older. Living units will each have a single bedroom and bath and will be located in an addition to an existing brick home on the property. The house will be renovated to serve as the kitchen, dining and living rooms and library. The developer will also retain a garage and barn on the property.

This type of operation is a conditional use in the agricultural zone that must be granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals.

Status: The Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission approved the site plan, but stipulated that the owner must provide private ambulance services for the residents. Emergency services in the area rely predominantly on volunteers, who are severely burdened by the growing population in South Carroll.
