Man denied bail in mall killing

A Baltimore County judge denied bail yesterday for a man charged in the fatal shooting this month of a store owner outside Security Square Mall.

Brian Keith Rose, 21, of Baltimore is charged with first-degree murder in the Jan. 5 death of Warren T. Fleming, 31, the owner of a Cingular Wireless store at the Woodlawn mall. Fleming was killed in what police say appears to have been an attempted carjacking.

Rose was being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Rose was arrested Wednesday at the home of a friend in Northwest Baltimore.
