The Board of Trustees of Harford Community College will meet in open session at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Chesapeake Center Board Room.
Individuals or groups may address the board at the public-comment portion of the meeting. Those wishing to speak must complete a request form before the meeting begins.
A three-minute time limit will be imposed and topics for discussion must relate to college concerns only.

HCC registration continues for spring semester
Harford Community College students can register in person for the spring semester through Jan. 21.
Hours of walk-in registration are 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Student Center.
Online registration is available through Jan. 22.

John Carroll School to hold Morning Star Celebration
John Carroll School will host the sixth annual Morning Star Celebration at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The activity is a benefit powwow for the St. Labre Indian School in Montana.
Admission is a $3 donation for adults and $1 for children.

The Joppatowne High School LEO Club's warm clothing drive will end Friday.
The club is requesting donations of new and used coats and gloves.

Bel Air High raising funds for after-graduation cruise
Bel Air High School After Graduation Cruise Committee is selling bows and banners as a fundraiser for a cruise for graduating seniors.
Blue and white bows are $6 and personalized banners are $25.
All orders must be made by April 15 and will be distributed with senior caps and gowns.

Deadline Jan. 20 to apply to Aberdeen High program
The application deadline for the 2006 Science and Mathematics Academy at Aberdeen High School is Jan. 20.
To be considered for the program, applicants must be in the eighth grade and able to finish geometry before the ninth grade.
Documents to be included with the application are report cards for sixth, seventh and eighth grades; standardized test scores; two essays; and recommendations from eighth-grade math, science and language arts teachers.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance in March.
Joppatowne, C. Milton win state character awards
Joppatowne and C. Milton Wright high schools were among 34 Maryland public schools to receive Outstanding School of Character Awards from the Maryland State Department of Education.
The schools implemented the "Capturing Kids' Hearts" program, which teaches educators how to show their students they care for their success.
Children's theater classes offered at Abingdon studio
Theatreworks ... Live! Inc. will offer a series of children's classes at the County Ballet Dance Studio in Abingdon.
The winter schedule includes Theatreworks Jr. for children ages 4 to 7 Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. from Jan. 21 through March 11. Students will learn vocal presentation and stage movement skills for the junior actor.
Musical Theatreworks for ages 8 through 17 will also meet Saturdays from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Jan. 21 through March 11. Students will focus on song and dance and production numbers from popular musicals.
Acting FUNdamentals for ages 11 through 17 will meet Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 20 through March 10. Young actors will have the opportunity to develop characters, interact with other actors, and work on line interpretation and acting techniques.
