The River Hill Community Association will sponsor "One Day," a multicultural event to celebrate the community's diversity, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 14 at Claret Hall, 6030 Daybreak Circle.
Displays by groups and residents from a variety of countries, a multicultural fashion show, performances and food sampling are planned. Admission is free.
The community association will observe National Wear Red Day, a campaign to fight heart disease, by collecting donations for the American Heart Association and distributing red ribbon pins Feb. 3.

At the library -- The Glenwood library, 2350 Route 97, Cooksville, will present "Penguins on Parade," a program of stories, activities and a craft for children age 4 and older to explore the world of penguins, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday. Registration is required. 410-313-5579.

A scavenger hunt for children ages 6 to 10, "In Search of ... at the Library," will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 21. Registration begins Jan. 14.

High school play -- The River Hill High School drama department will present One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, written by Dale Wasserman and based on Ken Kesey's book of the same name, at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 13, 14 and 15 in the school auditorium, 12101 Route 108, Clarksville. The black comedy contains difficult subject matter; parental discretion or supervision is strongly advised. The drama department suggests that children younger than 13 who attend be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Sales begin Tuesday at the River Hill High School Media Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays, and near the school's dining hall from 10:15 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. weekdays.
