FAMILY

PORT DISCOVERY NEW YEAR

Port Discovery's annual Noontime New Year is a celebration for families with young children. And this year's event, which kicks off Saturday, features the regular festivities, such as the noontime milk-and-cookies toast with MPT's Bob the Vid-Tech, and a musical performance by Charm City Revival. But this year, the festivities continue on Sunday with an international-themed celebration.

All day Sunday, visitors can participate in art workshops with Israeli caricaturist and illustrator Hanoch Piven, visit the Hall of Nations for facts on Sweden, Denmark, Spain and South Korea, and take part in an interactive drumming event with Circle of Drums, a mask-making activity, an Israeli dance workshop, a history quiz and lots more.

.......................

Port Discovery's Noontime New Year is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Port Discovery, 35 Market Place. Saturday admission to Noontime New Year is free. Museum admission is an additional cost. Sunday admission to the international celebration is $6 and includes museum admission. For more information, call 410-727-8120.
