Ring in the new year

With mere days left in 2005, there are still plenty of party options in the city for the unprepared. Here's our list of the highlights, which includes extravagant evenings, open bars and concerts, and fireworks, of course.

The 13th Floor

The club holds a tropical-themed party with Latin act Mambo Combo and reggae artist Danny Dread. Baltimore

Comedy Factory

Big Night Baltimore

Held on the entire club level of M&T Bank Stadium, this celebration features 13 themed party areas, 14 bands and DJs, four dance floors, a full open bar, hors d'oeuvres and Ravens cheerleaders. Bands include Jimmie's Chicken Shack, SR-71 and the Kelly Bell Band. Tickets are $109.99 for regular entry and $169.99 for VIP, but prices will increase as New Year's Eve approaches. Club One

Viva Glam party will feature DJs Tanz and Rob Cee, a Jagermeister ice luge, go-go dancers, a fortune teller, balloon drop, catwalk performers, an open bar and laser light show. Eight by Ten Club

At 8 p.m., Can't Hang opens for John Brown's Body. Then, at 2 a.m., the Bridge takes the stage for a late-night set. There will be a surf-and-turf buffet and open bar all night. Fletcher's

The Ottobar

The Charm City Rollergirls' Bring the Apocalypse: Beyond Rollerdome party starts at 8 p.m. and runs through 4 a.m. Entertainment includes bands the Payola Reserve and the Mishaps, full-contact musical chairs and a champagne toast. Rams Head Live

Rams Head Tavern

Recher Theatre

The Mahoney Brothers will play a Beatles tribute night, featuring three sets of Fab Four tunes. There will also be a hot and cold buffet and champagne toast. Red Maple

Reservations for a three-course tapas dinner and glass of champagne are $40 for the 6:30 p.m. seating and $75 for the 9 p.m. seating.
