AMADA "Mary" PRESSLEY of Wilmington, NC, died Friday, December 23, 2005 at her residence. She was born on September 13, 1937 in Leyte, Philippines, the daughter of the late Regino and Victoriano Verdejo Sarsonas. Mary worked for New Hanover School System in food services for 25 years. Working mainly at Bellamy School, she loved the children. She would pay out of her own pocket to ensure a child got a hot meal. Mary was a devout Catholic all her life and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church since 1978. She was a member of the Filipino organization and was a friend to everyone she met. Surviving is her husband, Joseph M. Pressley; five children, Christine Tryer and husband Vince, Joseph M. Pressley, Jr. and wife Erin, Linda Pressley, Mary Ann Moore and husband Junior, and Patricia Davis and husband Chris; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Moore, Heath and Madison Tryer, Tony Parker, Jr., Abigail, Breighan, and Griffin Pressley; one sister, Fely Dykins and husband Arthur. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Rev. Joseph Brennan, O.S.F.S. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 6650 Carolina Beach Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412. Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel.
