Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Robbery -- A man was robbed at gunpoint as he walked through the 1500 block of Gilmore Street early yesterday morning. About 4:10 a.m., the suspect took the victim's cell phone, coat and house keys before fleeing on foot.

Robbery -- A blue 1994 Plymouth Voyager was stolen between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. from the 1600 block of Lorman Court.


Robbery -- Police were seeking a man who fired shots at officers as he fled the scene of an armed robbery in the 1200 block of W. Pratt St. on Wednesday afternoon. No injuries were reported. The man entered AWAN Inc., a check-cashing firm, about 2:30 p.m. and was fleeing with an undisclosed sum of money when he spotted police and fired at them. Officers held their fire for fear of hitting pedestrians, and the man escaped.


Assault -- A gunman entered the third-floor of a house in the 1700 block of E. Chase St. about noon Thursday through a window and demanded money from a female resident. When told she had none and that there were two other people in the house, the man fled without taking any money or property.

Shooting -- Police responding to a shooting report in the 2200 block of Federal St. about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday found a man lying on the ground bleeding from bullet wounds to both hips and the right shoulder. The man was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital and admitted. No arrest had been made and police said they knew of no motive.

Robberies/shooting -- Two 17-year-old males were walking in the 700 block of N. Patterson Park Ave. about 11 p.m. Wednesday when a gunman on a bicycle stopped and ordered them to give up their money or he would shoot them. After each teen gave up about $20, one of them turned to run and was shot in the left hip. The victim was treated at Hopkins Hospital and was reported in good condition.


Robbery -- A gunman robbed a man, 48, of $47 in the 200 block of N. Lakewood Ave. about 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

Assault -- Two men were arguing in the 500 block of N. Linwood Ave. about 5 p.m. Thursday when one struck the other several times with a metal cane. The victim, 45, was treated at Hopkins Hospital for a minor eye injury. Police advised the victim to seek a warrant charging his assailant with assault.

Baltimore County


Burglary -- Sometime between September and Thursday, someone broke into a storage locker at Parkville High School and stole a computer and its carrying case -- all valued at $1,060.


Robbery try/arrest -- A young man was walking along Church Lane near Windsor Mill Road about 5:30 p.m. Thursday when two males, one armed with a knife, demanded his money. When the victim said he had none, the two other men fled. A short time later, police arrested Wesley Johnson, 18, of the 9300 block of Edway Drive, and charged him with attempted armed robbery. The other suspect was being sought.
