HOUSES OF WORSHIP TOUR

Experience a self-guided tour through one or more of 12 featured worship houses in Frederick. View three centuries of holiday decorations and the architecture of the buildings illuminated by candles. Many of the locations offer vocal and instrumental performances, as well as light refreshments. Visitors also can ride in horse-drawn carriages for a 25-minute tour of downtown Frederick.

The Houses of Worship Tour is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday. Carriage rides cost a small fee and will depart from 124 N. Market St., weather permitting. Tour brochures include worship-site addresses and featured programs and can be found at a variety of locations, including the Frederick Visitors Center, 19 E. DON QUIXOTE AT 400

Join other tilting-at-windmill fans Celebrating 400 Years of Don Quixote at the George Peabody Library. The library is showcasing its many historic editions of the novel, including Spanish, English, French, German and Dutch versions. Some of the displayed publications have woodcuts, engravings and hand-colored lithographs.

OUR DAILY BREAD

The Jewish Volunteer Connection is organizing a volunteer project to prepare more than 400 packages for visitors to the soup kitchen Our Daily Bread. The packages include items like gloves, hats and scarves. A light breakfast will be offered to volunteers.

AFTER THE HOLOCAUST

Portraits of Life: Holocaust Survivors of Montgomery County explores the lives of Holocaust survivors through photographs. Many of the photographs focus on the industrious lives that the survivors led after the Holocaust. The exhibit is hosted by the Maryland Humanities Council.
