Need a breather from all the seasonal hoopla?

If you're ready to throw your hands up and say "holidays, schmolidays," here are some alternative ways to celebrate. Don't worry, this doesn't mean you're a Scrooge - you'd just rather spread the yuletide spirit on the dance floor, that's all.

John Waters, the city's infamous filmmaker, offers his holiday observations, obsessions, and urge to give and receive twisted presents in this monologue at the 9:30 Club tonight. Trixie Little, the Evil Hate Monkey and Lobster Boy open the show with a burlesque performance at 8 p.m., and Waters goes on at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $25. Check out Trixie Little's Nice 'N' Naughty Holiday Spectac-u-thon. This two-hour burlesque show features acrobatics, dancing, stripteases, baton-twirling, singing and dancing. Scotty the Blue Bunny hosts the event tomorrow at the Ottobar. Performers include Trixie Little, the Evil Hate Monkey, Lukki, the Peekaboo Revue, the Degenerettes and Charm City Kitties. Young Jewish professionals 22 and older can spend Saturday night strutting at the Harbor Hora dance party. Held at Rams Head Live, the event starts at 8 p.m. and features music by DJ Barry Hart. What I Like About Jew rolls comedy, songs and tongue-in-cheek religious references into one big show. Performers Sean Altman and Rob Tannenbaum pair with guests Adam Brodsky and Eric Schwartz for two nights in the Greater Baltimore-Washington area.
