Two are injured in single-vehicle Ellicott City accident

Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Ellicott City early yesterday morning.

According to police, Jane Wilson Iacia, 47, of Baltimore was eastbound on Montgomery Road near Ilchester Road about 2:45 a.m. when she crossed a double-yellow line to pass a motorist.

Police said that after Iacia managed to pass the motorist, she lost control of her vehicle and struck an earthen berm.

Iacia and her passenger, Nagi Seth Patters, 35, of Baltimore were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

They were upgraded from serious to good condition yesterday afternoon.

Police said the accident is under investigation.
