Katie Rekart, Mount Hebron



STATS -- In her second season on the varsity, the junior guard has provided the Vikings with smart and steady play as a key contributor coming off the bench. Going into the week, the Vikings were 5-0, with all five wins in the county, and Rekart averaging four points and just under three assists. Last season, she received the Coaches Award from coach Scott Robinson for her hard work and team-first approach.

SIDELINES -- Rekart's top sport is lacrosse, and she was a second-team All-County attacker last spring as the No. 1 Vikings captured their ninth straight state title. She maintains a 3.8 grade point average, with an interest in math and science. Rekart also is a member of the school's marching band, playing the saxophone. Her twin sister Jill also plays basketball and lacrosse for the Vikings.
