Carroll County Snapshots

December 21, 2005

Jimmy Dorsey, Winters Mill

STATS -- Dorsey, a 6-foot-2 guard, opened the season with a career-high 30 points in his team's 78-41 win over Linganore. He hit seven of eight three-point attempts in that game. He then scored 17 points in a 55-50 win over North Carroll, and had 25 in a 71-50 win over rival Westminster

SIDELINES -- The junior is one of the county's most versatile players. Dorsey, who transferred to Winters Mill from South Carroll last year, can be accurate from the perimeter, but also can beat defenders off the dribble, making him difficult to guard. Coach Dave Herman said that although he's quiet by nature, Dorsey leads by example, always giving his all in practice. He's also knowledgeable about the game and hopes to continue his career in college. His brother, Kendall, is a sophomore on the Falcons' junior varsity team.
