Collision kills 1 near Towson Place Shopping Center

December 18, 2005

A Honda Civic taking an improper left turn last night out of the Towson Place Shopping Center struck a Toyota 4Runner, flipping the sport utility vehicle onto its roof and killing its driver, Baltimore County police said.

The Honda was trying to turn left about 6 p.m. from Prince Road onto East Joppa Road, a place where only right turns are permitted, according to Cpl. Michael Hill of the county police.

As the Honda was crossing Joppa, it struck the Toyota, causing the Toyota to slide and roll onto its roof.

The male driver of the Toyota was killed, and the female passenger was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was being treated last night, Hill said. Names were being withheld last night pending notification of relatives.

Neither the male driver nor the female passenger in the Honda was injured, Hill said.
