Baltimore City: Homicides

Two men dead in city shootings

Baltimore police are investigating two apparently unrelated homicides that took place in the city yesterday morning. Byron Lee Bell, 24, was found wounded on the ground in the 5100 block of Park Heights Ave. about 7 a.m. and was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to Sinai Hospital. A police spokeswoman declined to release Bell's home address. About two hours later, a man was found shot at Belnord Avenue and Orleans Street. He was rushed into surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital and died about 5 p.m., police said. Police were trying to determine the man's identity last night. Police asked anyone with information to call 410-396-2100.
