Ray Akinola and Kiyam Holloway hit three of four free throws in the last five seconds of play to lift host Bowie State over Pace, 82-78, last night.

Ryan Williams hit a three-pointer for the Setters (5-3) to cut the Bulldogs' lead to 79-78 with 18 seconds left. Derick Payne led Bowie (6-3) with 18 points.

PACE - Wellington 7-16 4-8 20, Williams 8-24 2-2 23, Quincy-Jones 3-5 1-1 7, Douglass 3-9 1-1 8, Lightburn 0-3 0-0 0, Rossetti 0-0 3-3 3, White 3-6 0-0 9, Morgan 4-8 0-2 8. Totals 28-71 11-17 78.
