Harford All-county

Player of the Year

Chris Lorenzet

C. Milton Wright

The senior midfielder is a three-year starter and complete player who often could control games with his skills. He helped C. Milton Wright win the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference championship, finishing the season with five goals and 11 assists. He's likely headed to Lycoming or Salisbury in the fall and hopes to continue playing soccer there.

Coach of the Year

Christopher Hoover

Graduation and injuries cost Hoover all 11 starters from last year's team that went 18-1 en route to a state semifinal berth. But the Cougars bounced back to win 12 straight and finish 13-2-1, losing to Mount Hebron in the regional semifinals. Hoover said a strong junior varsity program and good offseason training proved crucial.

Player of the Year

Katie Kolb

C. Milton Wright

The senior goalie played a huge role in helping the Mustangs win the Class 4A state title. The players voted her the team's Most Valuable Player this season when she had six shutouts, including a 1-0 win over Walt Whitman in the state title game. Kolb, whose nickname was "The Wall," was a four-year starter who finished with 28 career shutouts and made 615 saves. She made the game-winning save in a shootout in the state semifinal win over Eleanor Roosevelt. Kolb will play softball next year in college.

Coach of the Year

Paul Austin

C. Milton Wright

Austin's Mustangs completed their goal by winning the Class 4A state title. After making it to the Class 3A state semifinals last season, C. Milton Wright went 15-2 this year. Austin did not coach the team in the state title game after suffering a mild stroke earlier that week, but he did attend the game and is doing well now. The Mustangs have won three county or Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference titles in a row under Austin.
