The Kickoff

December 12, 2005

Good morning --Mike Flanagan --Now, aren't you glad not to share the job when your star wants to be traded?

Question of the day

Should the Orioles grant Miguel Tejada's request for a trade?

This is just the beginning of baseball's version of T.O. Trade now while his stock is high. The Orioles need too much to bring them up, but it will only take one to bring them down.

Kenn Driscoll

Oh, Miggy. Winning, especially in team sports, requires sacrifice. Would you be willing to give back half of your salary to buy a front-line pitcher? Probably not. Put your money where your mouth is or go somewhere else. Yes. Get equal value for him, but don't cave in.

George Hammerbacher

Treasure of the Baltimore Orioles: Enter scene with Angelos wearing a sombrero, instructing Flanagan: "Tejeda wants to be a winner? We ain't no winners! We don't need no stinkin' winners! Trade him!" Fade scene to gold dust blowing away in the wind.
