Armed man seen at Towson mall

Baltimore County police were seeking a man yesterday who dropped a handgun in the ground level of a garage at Towson Town Center on Dulaney Valley Road after shoppers reported the armed man to security officers, county police said.

The incident occurred about 4:15 p.m. Saturday in the parking area near Hecht's. Police, who released details yesterday, said the man dropped the weapon and ran from the garage moments before security officers arrived. The gun was turned over to county police.

Man fatally shot outside apartments

A man was fatally shot last night in front of a Northeast Baltimore apartment building. No arrest had been made, and police knew of no motive for the slaying, which occurred about 8:20 p.m. The victim's name was withheld. Police responding to a call in the 6000 block of Amberwood Road at the Maple Glen Apartments found a man in his 20s lying on the pavement and bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Car crash kills 1, injures another

A Baltimore County woman was killed and a Carroll County woman was injured yesterday when the vehicles they were driving collided on Liberty Road in Lochearn, police said. Tracy Ross, 21, of the 2500 block of Carriage Hill Circle in Randallstown was driving a 1998 Mazda Protege west in the 6500 block of Liberty Road when she crossed the center line and collided with a 2003 Honda CR-V driven by Sakhone Learn, 44, of the 1100 block of Jeffras Court in Westminster, said Sgt. Chuck Hart. Ross was pronounced dead at the scene; Learn was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was in serious condition.
