The Blast expected its sternest test of the season last night, and the visiting, first-place Milwaukee Wave delivered it.

Looking every bit like the league's only unbeaten team and the defending Major Indoor Soccer League champion, the Wave used its quickness, ball-control skills and aggressive defense to take command in the second half and defeat the Blast, 7-5, before an announced crowd of 7,197 at 1st Mariner Arena.
