NFL Week

COLTS (12-0) @ JAGUARS (9-3)

TIME, TV -- 1 p.m., chs. 13, 9

LINE -- Colts by 9

SKINNY -- The Jaguars have been able to control the ball against the Colts, gaining a nine-minute edge in time of possession once last year. The teams have split their past four meetings, and the Colts had to rally to win in September. The Jaguars are confident, maybe overconfident.

PICK -- Colts

CHIEFS (8-4) @ COWBOYS (7-5)

TIME -- 4:15 p.m.

LINE -- Cowboys by 3

SKINNY -- The Cowboys are short on healthy cornerbacks and Trent Green might be the most underappreciated quarterback in the NFL. Still, the Cowboys are playing great defense. If they can handle RB Larry Johnson, they can weather the barrage.

PICK -- Cowboys

BUCS (8-4) @ PANTHERS (9-3)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Panthers by 5 1/2

SKINNY -- The Panthers own the Buccaneers, winning the past five times they've met. Carolina's pass rush (28 sacks in the past seven games) will put a lot of pressure on QB Chris Simms. First team to the end zone wins this epic defensive struggle.

PICK -- Panthers

WORTH SEEING

BEARS (9-3) @ STEELERS (7-5)

TIME, TV -- 1 p.m., Ch. 45

LINE -- Steelers by 6 1/2

SKINNY -- Ben Roethlisberger will try to play through his injuries, but the Bears' defense is unforgiving. Unless the Steelers find a running game, Roethlisberger won't have much of a chance.

PICK -- Bears

GIANTS (8-4) @ EAGLES (5-7)

TIME -- 4:05 p.m.

LINE -- Giants by 9

SKINNY -- The Eagles don't have any playmakers left on offense and their defense is in disarray. The Giants control the division.

PICK -- Giants

DOLPHINS (5-7) @ CHARGERS (8-4)

TIME -- 4:15 p.m.

LINE -- Chargers by 13 1/2

SKINNY -- San Diego's No. 1 NFL run defense will force QB Gus Frerotte to make plays in the air. The Chargers' versatile offense, however, represents an even bigger problem for the Dolphins.

PICK -- Chargers

PATRIOTS (7-5) @ BILLS (4-8)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Patriots by 3 1/2

SKINNY -- The Eric Moulds flap last week didn't help the Bills' preparation.

PICK -- Patriots

BROWNS (4-8) @ BENGALS (9-3)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Bengals by 12 1/2

SKINNY -- QB Charlie Frye's first NFL road start comes against the Bengals' vacuum-cleaner defense (26 interceptions).

PICK -- Bengals

RAMS (5-7) @ VIKINGS (7-5)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Vikings by 7

SKINNY -- The Rams are a shell of a playoff team.

PICK -- Vikings

Easy to miss

LIONS (4-8) @ PACKERS (2-10)

TIME, TV -- 8:30 p.m., ESPN

LINE -- Packers by 6

SKINNY -- A dome team has to play outdoors in Green Bay at night.

PICK -- Packers

49ERS (2-10) @ SEAHAWKS (10-2)

TIME -- 4:05 p.m.

LINE -- Seahawks by 16 1/2

SKINNY -- Seattle looks like a juggernaut in the NFC West.

PICK -- Seahawks

RAIDERS (4-8) @ JETS (2-10)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Raiders by 3

SKINNY -- It's hard to win when you can't score.

PICK -- Raiders

TEXANS (1-11) @ TITANS (3-9)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Titans by 7

SKINNY -- Does Houston remember the Oilers?

PICK -- Titans
