CPR, first aid classes are offered

The American Red Cross is offering cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid classes around the county.

Classes will be given at Westminster Senior Center, 125 Stoner Ave.

Participants must register and pay for classes in advance. Available courses are:

Adult CPR: Classes are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 7 and cost $40.

Adult CPR and First Aid Basics: Classes are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 7 and cost $45.

Babysitter Training: For youths 11 to 15. Students learn to interview for a job, react to an emergency or sudden illness, play with children of different ages (infant to primary school age), and supervise children in all aspects of care. The class is nine hours and costs $65. Please note that state law requires that children under 8 years old must be in the care of someone age 13 or older. Hospital sponsoring Tree of Lights

The Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary is sponsoring its Tree of Lights fundraiser to memorialize and honor loved ones.

Lights may be purchased by anyone wishing to remember a loved one.

The cost for lights is $5 per person, $10 per family, $25 per club or organization, $100 per industry or business, and $50 for an angel for the tree.

Honorees will be named in the Book of Honor on display in the hospital lobby through January.

Lights may be purchased through Jan. 13.
