Antoine Brown, Joppatowne

FOOTBALL STATS -- This was Brown's first year as the Mariners' starting quarterback, and he quickly grew into the role. Joppatowne doesn't throw much out of the power-I, but Brown's quickness and ball-handling skills helped the Joppatowne attack. He ran for an early 14-yard touchdown in the team's win over Stephen Decatur in the regional final.

SIDELINES -- Brown also plays varsity basketball and lacrosse. He's looking at going to Frostburg State next year, maybe to play football. He's involved in the school's Student Government Association and served as this fall's homecoming king.

Lyndsie Ludwig, C. Milton Wright

STATS -- The sophomore scored the game-winning goal in C. Milton Wright's 1-0 victory over Walt Whitman in the Class 4A state title game. She played midfield during the regular season and moved to forward in the playoffs. She finished second on the team in scoring, with 10 goals and two assists. Ludwig had three game-winning goals this season - two of which came in overtime against Fallston and Reservoir.

SIDELINES -- Ludwig also is a hurdler for the Mustangs' indoor and outdoor track teams, and she plays club soccer for the Harford Kicks. In addition, she competes and teaches with the Hoppin' Hawks jump rope team in Aberdeen. Ludwig has been with them for seven years and now also coaches some of the less experienced and younger members of the squad.
