2 -- Times in nine games that football teams from either Baltimore City or Baltimore County defeated teams from outside their area during the past three weeks of playoff games. Dunbar of Baltimore City defeated Poolesville in the Class 1A South regional final and Western Tech of Baltimore County beat Catoctin in the 1A North regional semifinal.

2:06 -- The total amount of time it took McDonogh's Bryn Holmes to pin three opponents en route to the 152-pound title in last weekend's St. Benedict's wrestling tournament. Holmes recorded two 47-second falls, and a third in 32 seconds.

25 -- Points scored by McDonogh's Brittany Mallory in the No. 2 Eagles' 62-55 season-opening loss to nationally ranked Good Counsel. The All-Metro guard hit three three-pointers.

1998 -- The last time a Baltimore County football team other than Hereford reached a state title game. In 1998, Eastern Tech made it to the Class 3A final, which it lost, 45-29, to Friendly of Prince George's County. Hereford won state titles in '97, 2001 and 2002, and was runner-up in 2004.
