Richard Marc Belkov, 56, software systems consultant

Richard Marc Belkov, a software systems consultant and boater, died of cancer Friday at his Crownsville home. He was 56.

Mr. Belkov was born in Baltimore and raised in Howard Park. He was a 1966 graduate of Polytechnic Institute and earned a bachelor's degree in business from Rutgers University in 1974.

For nearly two decades until the company was dissolved in 1993, Mr. Belkov was a partner in Atlantic Information Management Inc. in Bridgewater, N.J.

He moved from Flemington, N.J., to Crownsville in 1991 and went to work in 1995 for Tricom Computer Co. After the company was sold in 2003, he worked as a computer software consultant.

Mr. Belkov enjoyed motorboating on the Chesapeake Bay and the Severn River, taking bicycle trips in Ocean City and Cape May, N.J., and downhill skiing. He was also a lifelong fan of Motown music, family members said.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. today at Temple Beth Shalom, 1461 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Arnold.

Surviving are his wife of 15 years, the former Cindy Zarichnak; a son, Jason M. Belkov of Levittown, Pa.; a daughter, Jessica L. Gordon of Arnold; his parents, Sylvin and Annette Belkov of Severna Park; a brother, Larry Belkov of Annapolis; two sisters, Nancy Belkov Parker of Boston and Carol Beth Belkov of Annapolis; a stepdaughter, Lauren Ann Bosley of Crownsville; and a grandson. His marriage to the former Patricia Ann Cornish ended in divorce.
